English: The Mutha River, is a river in western Maharashtra, India; it arises in the Western Ghats and flows eastward until it merges with the Mula River in the city of Pune and Shivaji Bridge, built in 1924, is Pune’s second-largest bridge and was earlier known as Llyod's Bridge, it was one part of a town planning scheme to accelerate movement across the Mutha River, as Sambhaji Bridge already existed across the Mutha River, Shivaji Bridge was called Nava Pul (New Bridge), located near PMC, Pune, Maharashtra, India

This photography contest was organised to document the Mula & Mutha rivers along with its tributaries in the Pune district on Wikimedia Commons in the form of images and videos with the involvement of active citizens during the time period of 15 May - 30 June 2023. Pune River Revival group, Jeevitnadi, Ecological Society, Samuchit Enviro Tech, Nisarg Sevak, National Society for Clean Cities etc. in Pune and CIS-A2K collaborated together to organise this contest.
