It is part of the living heritage of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, indigenous to Åland, Sápmi, Kven people, Newfoundland, Greenland and Faroe Islands. It is recorded in Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, National Inventory of Living Heritage in Finland, Immateriell kulturarv and Living traditions – An inventory of intangible cultural heritage in Sweden. ➔ View and edit on Wikidata.
