Talk:GLAM/Model projects/Adding a Wikipedia citation template to your database

Early questions for project development edit

  1. If template is used with exhibits, what happens when the exhibit is closed/renovated?
  2. Are there any good examples of WP / WM articles where cites have been used effectively and draw attention to info from museums?
  3. Does it have to be a standard template that just needs a couple of parameters changing each time? (in the example one template is provided, just for a database, so only the title and URL changes each time)
  4. Which template format is best? Presumably, the editor who ends up using the cite will adjust the date format?
  5. If the templates are going to be added to an online database / catalogue, is there a way of doing the coding so that when the user clicks to copy the template it automatically completes the "retrieved" date? Too complicated?
