I can understand why. It's a beautiful page. I have some suggestions, though. What we need to keep in mind here is that this model will be rolled out on many, many pages. And most people will not know how to edit that page if they want to change anything there. So, let's keep it a little less complex.

My suggestion is that we make the user page look like a very good Wikipedia article (except for the tabs at the top). We put a place for a picture of the user to the right (instead of the Wikipedia puzzle globe we have something like this), we put some basic facts at the top from the form the user filled in in the previous step, and then we leave room for the new Wikipedian to add information later about him/herself. I'll start working on a variant of your excellent version now and we can argue which is better after that :-).//Hannibal (talk) 13:16, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Yep, I was intending it to be a template where the text boxes could be filled in as parameters, etc. Also re screen sizes, I haven't ironed those crinkles out yet, but I know they're an issue for tablets and netbooks or other portable devices. Using CSS, I can avoid pretty much all of those issues, though (at least, I'll have to try it first, but I think I can). Fetchcomms (talk) 05:22, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Image of version without text

This is how I first saw Fetchcomm's version on my Eee PC netbook. As you can see, if the screen is too small, the text disappears (this is normal size). If I make the page smaller I can see the text.//Hannibal (talk) 16:41, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
