The fourth Edu Wiki camp in Serbia has been successfully organized. During this camp participants had the opportunity to learn about WMRS’ programs and projects, but also to refine their skills that will help them in their further volunteer engagement at Wikimedia Serbia. The camp, which was held from July 15 to July 18 in Kladovo, was attended by 17 students from different parts of Serbia.

This year's camp expanded its capacities, which enabled us to bring more participants to the camp than in the previous years. It was an opportunity for interested students to gain knowledge in terms of Wiki projects, but also to learn how they can implement Wiki activities in their environment, especially at the faculties they study. In addition to Education Program Manager, Nebojsa Ratkovic and Program and Community Manager, Ivana Madzarevic, facilitators at this camp were Wiki Ambassadors Nemanja Antanasijevic and Teodora Lukic.

The Camp focused on three projects - Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata, and the fourth part consisted of interactive workshops on project writing, partnerships with educational institutions and assertive communication. Since the Edu Wiki camp is designed with the idea to motivate participants to volunteer at Wikimedia Serbia after the Camp ends, we asked participants to propose solutions that will lead to the expansion of Education Program of Wikimedia Serbia.

“Edu Wiki camp definitely stands out from all the other courses, programs and trainings I have ever attended so far. I think there are several reasons behind this: an excellent organization with a thoroughly designed and well-balanced agenda, the selection of participants who came with the intention of being dedicated and established rules and values that were constantly shared throughout the Camp. I enjoyed lectures, an edit-a-thon, hanging out with other participants, and all other activities. I responsibly claim that Edu Wiki camp is a unique experience from which you can only become a better editor and person (it may sound cliché, but its not at all)”, said one of the participants.
