Еdu wiki camp organized by Wikimedia Serbia was held for the third time with the aim to promote Education Program and to attract new volunteers and Wiki ambassadors. The camp was organized in Sremski Karlovci from 6th to 10th August for 13 students from different places of Serbia who took part in this camp. They were selected among more than a 100 young people from all over the country who have applied for the camp this year. Education Program Manager Nebojša Ratković, Project and Community Manager Ivana Madzarević and Wiki Ambassadors Miljan Simonović and Teodora Lukić, led the participants for five days through the wiki world of disseminating free knowledge, with a program specifically designed to enhance the skills necessary for the development of the Education Program.

The Dashboard, a tool that has greatly improved the tracking of students’ work on Wikipedia, was presented at Edu wiki camp. The presentation was held by Teodora Lukić, participant of the last year's camp, who soon became the Wiki ambassador at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. In addition to the presentations directly related to the program activities of the Wikimedia Serbia, the participants were trained in terms of creating plans and writing projects. During their stay in Sremski Karlovci, the participants had the opportunity to take part in photo-tours in the surroundings, as well as to visit Vojvodina Museum in Novi Sad. On that occasion, Wikipedian in residence at this institution, Aleksandar Tumarić, held a brief presentation about the WIR activities and tasks that is currently being implemented. Students has also an opportunity to listen a lecture “What teachers should know?” held by Milena Marić, teacher at Ninth Gymnasium in Belgrade. The debate was a final event of Edu wiki camp in which two sides stood for and against the arguments for using Wikipedia as a teaching tool. Debate showed how much information participants were able to learn during the five days.

"I am very satisfied with this year's camp, especially with the selection of participants. This group was very active. The emphasis during this Edu wiki camp was on interactive workshops and sessions, which proved to be an excellent way of involving the participants in the course and directions of the topics discussed at the sessions. We hope that they will all become active volunteers and wiki ambassadors, who will spread the Wikimedia mission at their faculties", said Nebojša Ratković, coordinator of Edu wiki camp.
