O monumento arquitetônico, peculiar na singeleza e sobriedade, apresenta em sua trajetória histórica muitas reconstruções como a excepcional concepção arquitetônica do Convento, incrustado na rocha do morro, abrindo as janelas de suas celas para o magnífico panorama da barra de Vitória e do oceano Atlântico, enquanto de sua fachada se tem bela vista panorâmica de Vila Velha.
English: On a cliff – 154 meters high and in a privileged location 500 meters from the sea – which boasts an imposing fragment of the Atlantic forest in its surroundings, is built the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Penha, founded by Frei Pedro Palácios, who arrived here in 1558, bringing with it the Panel of Our Lady of Joy.
The architectural monument, peculiar in its simplicity and sobriety, presents in its historical trajectory many reconstructions such as the exceptional architectural design of the Convent, embedded in the rock of the hill, opening the windows of its cells to the magnificent panorama of the Barra de Vitória and the Atlantic Ocean, while its facade has a beautiful panoramic view of Vila Velha.
