Title
Nederlands: Het Nationaal Monument in wording
English: The National Monument being made
Description
English: In two workshops in Amsterdam people work on the new Monument for the Dam square, designed by J.J.P. Oud that will replace the temporary monument for those fallen in the war in the Dam park. John Raedecker, designer of the sculptures, is working on the finishing of the plaster sculptures of resistance fighters. In an other workshop stonemasons are carving out the actual sculptures from marble-like limestone. The executive sculpturers Camman and Van Tetterode are adding important parts of the plaster sculptures after which the actual sculptures will be carved out. In the end Raedecker will work on the details. With images from the temporary monument.
