English: The title is an inside reference to this being Chaplin's first of 14 Essanay films he made after leaving Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios. Also one of Gloria Swanson's earliest screen appearances. She's the stenographer on the left that Chaplin speaks to when the movie begins. It's the only film Chaplin shot at Essanay's Chicago studio. He found the facilities and climate (His New Job was shot in mid-winter) not to his liking, and Chaplin soon relocated back to California.
