Iedere week sluiten in Nederland twee kerken hun deuren. De gebouwen worden gesloopt of krijgen een andere bestemming. Als er geen aandacht is voor het interieur en de inventaris dreigt dit erfgoed voorgoed te verdwijnen.

Wanneer in 1972 de Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Tenhemelopnemingkerk aan de Biltstraat in Utrecht wordt afgebroken, kan dit fragment van een glas-in-loodraam worden gered. De voorstelling toont ons een geknielde engel die op het punt staat een wijwaterkwast in het vat te dopen en de kerkgangers te besprenkelen. Hiermee worden de gelovigen in de kerk als het ware gezegend.
