| Description |
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Everything is slowly coming back to normal in the Dutch East Indies. In the working-class area Tanah Abang, on the border of Batavia, a market is held. SHOTS: - Indonesians cross a bridge and head to the market; most of the market vendors have their goods hanging in baskets over their shoulders; Dutch soldiers guard the entrance to the bridge and check everybody; - other people going to the market arrive by tram, hanging from the windows or holding on to the outside of the tram; some passengers get in or out through the window; - scenes of the market: vendors; goods; stalls; customers etc.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.
In Nederlands-Indië komt het normale leven steeds meer op gang. In de volkswijk Tanah Abang, aan de rand van Batavia, wordt een markt gehouden. SHOTS: - Indonesiërs begeven zich, over een brug, naar de markt; de marktkooplui onder hen hebben hun koopwaar veelal in twee manden aan een stok over hun schouders hangen; Nederlandse soldaten bewaken de toegang tot de brug en controleren iedereen; - andere marktgangers arriveren per tram, hangend uit de ramen of zich vastklampend aan de buitenkant van de tramwagon; enkele passagiers stappen in of uit via het raam; - marktscènes: kooplui; koopwaar; kraampjes; klanten ed. |
