Nederlands: Titel: Jimmy gaat naar zondagsschool. Jimmy gaat naar de zondagsschool, waar hij de juffrouw de stuipen op het lijf jaagt met een kikker. Voor straf mag hij niet mee naar de picknick. Een briefje over de NV De Zon brengt hem op het idee het Circus Buffalo Bill op te richten. Hij mobiliseert vriendjes, repeteert en deelt folders rond. De voorstelling met indianen, cowboys en als hoogtepunt de intocht van Buffalo Bill op een ezel, is een groot succes. English: Synopsis from the 9/ 1915 Vitagraph Bulletin (pg. 35):
"SONNY JIM AND THE AMUSEMENT COMPANY LTD Vitagraph Comedy in One Reel In this charming little "Kid" Comedy, Sonny Jim is told by the Sunday School teacher he cannot go to the school picnic because he brought a huge bullfrog to school and it jumped into her lap. Sonny retaliates by getting up "The Amusement Company Limited," then getting all the boys to stay away from the picnic to attend the "10-Act Circus" to be given in his father's barn. Result: the only ones to attend the picnic are the girls, the Superintendent, Gerald Montague, the "goody-goody" boy and Teacher. "Goody" tells where the boys are and all troop over to the barn. No one has the hear to scold the boys, so all but Teacher are soon enjoying the comical efforts of the little "Circus" performers to amuse." |
