Since October 2011, the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry, England has been collaborating with Wikimedia. It is the first ongoing Wikimedia collaboration outside of London, within the UK. The partnership has led to regular wiki-meets being held in the city.

Specific case studies
edit- As with many GLAM partnerships, the first public event was a Backstage Pass. It brought Wikimedians together with curatorial, conservational and archival staff from the museum, as well as other local institutions.

- In March 2012, an edit-a-thon was organised to tie in with the image donation. Articles were created on historic places and people from Coventry and Warwickshire.
- Running a Wikipedia Takes... event (external link)
- In September 2012, local Wikimedians organised the UK's first Wikipedia Takes... event (a one-day photo scavenger hunt). Over 2000 photos of historic buildings and places were uploaded by local amateur photographers for use in Wikipedia articles and elsewhere.
