The first European GLAM Coordinators online meet-up

On 13th of December the first online meet-up of European GLAM Coordinators took place. At 4th Biennial European GLAMwiki Coordinators Meeting in Prague in September 2022 there was indicated a clear need to find a new and more regular formula to exchange knowledge and experience between GLAM coordinators in Europe.

The first online meeting was initiated and facilitated by Michelle van Lanschot, Giovanna Fontenelle and Kamila Neuman. The purpose of the first meeting was to develop a formula for subsequent meetings, which are to help GLAM coordinators exchange knowledge and expierience on more regular basis.

New articles on the collection of Wawel Royal Castle

We keep continue to develop our cooperation with Wawel Royal Castle State Art Collection. In December new articles on the artifacts from the Crown Treasury were published on Wikipedia. A series of articles that are developed by the museum professional is connected with the new opening of the Crown Treasury, the part of the Castle that was used from the 15th century for storing the Polish coronation insignia and Crown Jewels. The Wawel Royal Castle, where the museum is located, for centuries had been the residence of the kings of Poland and the symbol of Polish statehood.

More unique objects from Wawel’s collection were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and they illustrate the new articles connected with "the re-opening of the Crown Treasury”.

Results of Wiki Loves Monuments 2022

The winners of Wiki Loves Monuments were announced in December.

The first place went to Daniel.zolopa for the photo of the interior of the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology in Warsaw. The second place went to Aneta Pawska for the photo of Prochowa Tower at Książ Castle in Wałbrzych. The third place went to Kacper Jerzak for the photo of World War I Cemetery nr 123 in Łużna-Pustki.

Big congratulations to all the winners and honorable mentions and many thanks to all participants of the competition for their contribution.
