Memories+History & #1lib1ref workshop
#1lib1ref in Thessaloniki
As part of the #1lib1ref campaign, two training sessions, hands on practice and editathon were held at the Library & Information Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on February 1st in cooperation with the Wikimedia Community User Group Greece. Invited were the librarians of the university and other libraries of the city, and also the students of the Department of Library Science and Information Systems of ATEI Thessaloniki. The sum of the attendees was more than 40 librarians.
Divided Memories - Workshop and editathon
On Thursday, February 16, a Wikipedia Workshop and Editathon was held at the Library of the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, as part of the exhibition "Divided Memories 1940-1950. The Distance Between History and Experience" by the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki jointly organized with the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki, and the Deutsches Historisches Museum.
The workshop was part of Thesswiki, a project that began in 2015 under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and implemented by PostScriptum, in cooperation with the Wikimedia Community User Group Greece. This time Thesswiki was utilized as a study tool of cultural fermentation and artistic trends during the Occupation and the Civil War in Greece, as well as the representation of the people's memories.
