From 1 to 3 March the 6th meeting of the GLAM community in Germany took place in the office of Wikimedia Germany. Its aim: To discuss further cooperations with GLAM institutions and their further development. What has been successful so far and how could the work be improved?
About 30 participants from the community as well as representatives of WMDE, WMAT and WMCH met. In three working groups the topics WikiData, formats of cooperation and international GLAM projects were discussed.
On the last day of the event, an employee of the Humboldt Forum, an ambitious new museum project in Berlin which aims to be a world center for culture, presented the concept of the Forum and the options how Wikipedia and its sister projects could participate in its development. The participants were happy to note that their previous efforts are beeing recogniced by cultural institutions and rewarded by the fact that institutions are beginning to contact us, instead of vice versa.
