Questions that complement the Rubric edit

This set of questions is complementary to the Rubric, and intends to help clarify the criteria presented in the Rubric.

Alignment edit

  • With Education Program Logic model
    • Does it make sense for the Education Team to chime in? The team would usually focus on the portions of the grant request that focus on education
      • Is the plan logical?
      • Is the theory of change readily accessible?
      • Is the proposal for education coherent in itself?
      • Is the proposal for education coherent with the rest of the project?
      • Does it consider Best practices? (Which are those? Where are they published?)

Strategy alignment (2030 Strategic Direction) edit

  • Does the program respond explicitly to the 2030 strategy, or at least to specific prompts in the strategy?

Context reading / awareness / analysis edit

  • The education program proposal acknowledges the social context in which it is slanted to operate in
    • Organizers have a good knowledge of how the educational systems of the country/region they operate in
    • Organizers use their knowledge of the context to articulate their theory of change and plan of action

Program leader’s/Program team’s Expertise edit

  • Experience
    • Does this Affiliate have demonstrated experience in the field of education?
    • This relates to Program size criteria

Community membership edit

  • Learning from other Wikipedia Education Programs’ experiences
  • Experience in outreach with the education sphere

Program size edit

  • Should consider
    • Volunteer support available to organizers (as trainers, content reviewers, …)
    • Progressiveness: building on success
      • Experience has shown that it is preferable to grow from small to big, instead of launching too large a project at once.
      • Does the current proposal have a sense of trajectory that considers current size, future evolutions?

Internal organization edit

  • Is the proposed program planned considering the number of volunteers that are needed?
  • How will the team be organized?
  • Have connections previously been established with the institutions that are being planned to work with?
  • Materials:
    • Are all the materials needed at hand (including translations when needed?)

Problems to solve / Risks management edit

  • The program designers have identified risks and problems to solve and are considering action to be taken to manage the risks/solve potential problems.

Advocacy (Outreach potential) edit

  • Has the program considered desirable social impacts it wants to achieve? (people, institutions, communities)

Outcomes (Clarity of goals / outcome metrics) edit

  • Follow up potential
    • How will feedback from the execution of the program be obtained?
    • How will feedback to improve your program/event participation in the future be used?
    • Is the program leader/teal able to take on the follow-up tasks after the program’s realization?
  • How will networking opportunities the program will provide be used to maximize impact?

Learning outcomes edit

  • Student outcomes
    • How will impact of the program on the students be measured?
  • Teacher learning outcomes
    • How will impact of the program on the teachers be measured?

Wikipedia Education Impact (how will the program benefit the community?) edit

  • Sharing during and afterwards (visibility)
    • Communications of the program (Newsletter, Facebook group, tweets)
    • Sharing on Commons (pictures, resources)
    • Learning patterns
    • Case studies
    • Summarizing the learning from other conference sessions & reporting back (ie. Learning Days, Wikimania, Regional events …)
  • Connection with the larger community
    • Does the project consider connecting with other education program leader?

Wiki Community impact edit

  • Have the impact of publishing in the language that the program will be working with been considered?
  • Has the program leader/team reached out to the community to explain what it is attempting to do?

Focus on educators edit

  • Are educators (including administrators) clearly identified as key partners for the project? How will relationships be built?
