Updating
editSamir, thank you helping me update this page! You're the best! :)
Here are some suggestions:
- Every photo should link to a newsletter article or a blog post.
- Every link title should include a location (country/city).
- It is ok to shorten the titles a bit if that helps to not obscure the image behind the title.
- The most recent photos should be featured first.
- With all the good work there is going on around the world in our program, we probably shouldn't use photos that are older than 1 year.
- Include a mix of ages, genders, countries (Global South/Global North).
- No more than 2-3 rows max (since the more we have, the longer it takes to render on a mobile device).
If you have other ideas, I'd love to discuss them.
Thanks, again, Samir. This is going to look great! :) Anna Koval (WMF) (talk) 02:03, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Selsharbaty (WMF):
- The September 2015 update looks awesome! I love that Leigh added a video to the photo wall; great idea! We should update this page again after the first quarterly publication of the education newsletter next month. Anything from 2014 can be replaced by a newer photo and linked article. Also, we should remind people who share photos on the education program Facebook group to be sure share their images on Commons also, for featuring here. :)
- Thanks, again, Samir and Leigh. Anna Koval (WMF) (talk) 15:51, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for flagging, Anna. I will do a second update early December to replace all photos older than 2015. --Selsharbaty (WMF) (talk) 16:58, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
