Talk:Introduction to free licenses (Bookshelf)
I moved some of the comments from the page here:
- [Quote]:”Think of 'free' as in 'free speech', not as in 'free beer'.”
[by]:Richard Stallman, founder of Free Software Foundation and GNU [what does this quote mean] Chvaza 22:04, 26 September 2010 (UTC) Indeed. And think about "linguistic portability" (the translation). This quote is not really useful in German, more confusing than helpful. We (and many other languages) need no speech and beer to explain the difference between "frei" and "gratis". Ziko 22:14, 26 September 2010 (UTC) - fixed
- [re this edit - Free license isn't just applicable to the Internet and books, is it?] Chvaza 22:04, 26 September 2010 (UTC) - well, it's much easier to copy digital files, but I accept your edit

editI really think the "people are going to steal it anyway, so release it under a free license!" argument is counterproductive. Let's just stick to the basics of contributing to free knowledge. I've removed that line of argument and tried to clarify the points. Let me know what you think. --Ldavis 22:14, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
