The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is an effort to help new users and reach out to new potential contributors—particularly professors who want to incorporate Wikipedia into the classroom and their students who are assigned to edit Wikipedia.

Campus Ambassadors serve as local representatives of the Wikipedia community on college and university campuses.

Online Ambassadors serve as virtual mentors, advisors, and helpers to the professors and students who are incorporating Wikipedia into the classroom.

Regional Ambassadors serve in a leadership capacity in the Wikipedia Ambassador program. At the moment, Regional Ambassador positions are available only in the Canada, Mexico, and United States. Regional Ambassadors are in charge of Campus Ambassador training, coordinating professor check-in, coordinating Campus Ambassador performance and facilitating communication among different stakeholders (professors, Campus Ambassadors, Online Ambassadors, Wikimedia staff, etc.).
