Nichole of the WMF Education Team has been accepted as a featured speaker for the 2017 Asian Conference on Technology in the Classroom. She will present a 90 minute workshop that will give educators a basic understand of why Wikimedia projects belong in the classroom and the basic tools and resources available to start a project. The conference, which will be held in Kobe, Japan, is an excellent platform for introducing educators in Asia to the benefits of using Wikimedia projects in the classroom. The theme of the conference is "Educating for Change" and other featured speakers include Dr. Mark Pegrum, an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Western Australia who specializes in mobile learning and e-learning, and Dr. Barbara Lockee, Professor of Instructional Design and Technology at Virginia Tech.

Registering to attend the conference is still possible, with registration for regular audience attendance accepted until May 4, 2017. Further information can be found at the conference website.
