Galleria Uffizi workshop and editathon
Uffizi Gallery held a two day event organized by Wikimedia Italia. On January 20th the library of the gallery hosted a workshop for museum professionals about the Wikimedia projects. On January 21th an editathon was held at the prestigious Cabinet Room of Drawings and Prints.
National Library, Florence
Andrea Zanni (Aubrey) held a course on Wikisource dedicated to librarians. This has been the first course in Italy completely dedicated to Wikisource, and was held on 3 dates: January 11, 18, 25. The course was about 18 hours in total, and it covered pretty much everything you should know for editing Wikisource: navigation, Index pages, Proofread extensions, template for formatting and how to upload books in Internet Archive and Wikisource. There were 20 librarians from all Florence, affiliated with different libraries and institutions. Every one of them has now an account on Wikimedia and started uploading digitizations on Internet Archive and Commons. Given the success of the course, another one is being programmed for Tuscan librarians outside Florence.
Young UNESCO General Conference, Naples.
On January 14th Lorenzo Losa, president of Wikimedia Italia, had a talk on Wiki Loves Monuments and enhancement of cultural heritage during the national conference of youth clubs of Italian UNESCO, in the wonderful setting of San Giovanni Maggiore Cathedral in Naples.

On January 31th Luca Martinelli held a presentation at the workshop Big Bang Data. Debug & Reuse dei dati di OpenICCD, organized by ICCD in collaboration with opensensorsdata, ArcheoPop and professione Archeologo.
