Hundreds of Khalili images
Khalili Collections
This has been the biggest month yet for bulk uploads of Khalili images. 305 new images from Khalili's collections of Meiji-era Japanese Art, of Spanish Damascened Metalwork and of Aramaic documents, including some higher-resolution versions of previously-uploaded images, take this project's total images to 380. The project home page shows how many images correspond to each collection. Categorising of these images in the Commons category tree has barely begun and help is welcome.
The Khalili Collections data set on Wikidata now extends to 315 items and totals 3073 statements. (Graph visualisation of the whole data-set). Data items don't exactly correspond to images because some art works have multiple images, and one collection was uploaded to Commons without a data set being created. Additionally, 51 items exist on Wikidata without a corresponding image on Commons because copyright in the art work has not yet expired.
The article on Khalili Collection of Enamels of the World passed DYK review and a link appeared on the front page of English Wikipedia on 10 November. This is the 12th article from this project to pass DYK review. A volunteer translated the Plácido Zuloaga article from English into French, creating the 14th new article to come out of the project. I am presently working on articles connected to the Khalili Collection of Hajj and the Arts of Pilgrimage. There are some topics closely related to the Hajj which are very well-documented on English Wikipedia, but still there are important topics connected to the Hajj which have a very scant article or no article at all, and for which the Khalili Collection has images and documentation.
