Memory of the World baseline
Khalili Foundation
From now on a large proportion of my time will be spent on the Memory of the World project. The Khalili Foundation is supporting and fully funding work to improve the visibility of UNESCO Memory of the World inscriptions on the Wikimedia platforms. This will bring some of the world's most precious documentary heritage to the widest possible audience. I will be co-ordinating with the team at UNESCO to improve Wikimedia as they improve the official online database. This project will have its own monthly reports, beginning this month.
I spent a lot of time this month reviewing and updating the "For Teachers" materials on the Interfaith Explorers site which adapts wiki content for primary and secondary education. I also continued to add links and improvements to the For Students pages. On Wikipedia, I've spent some time tweaking the Shokai Samurai draft and looking for further sources.
There is one new translation this month: a volunteer translated the Empire of the Sultans article into Arabic. This is the 65th article resulting from this partnership, and the fourth in Arabic. Empire of the Sultans now exists in English, Indonesian, Western Punjabi, Urdu, Persian, Turkish, and Arabic.
There are no image uploads this month. GLAMOrgan reports 4,822,772 image views this month from 99 different wikis.
