Three students from the Department of Archivistics, Library and Information Science at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMET) will work with writing and improving biographies of Norwegian artists from a list curated by the National Gallery. We have so far held two workshops on how to edit on Wikipedia. In the next session the students will be diving into to the archives at the National Library in Oslo.

For this project the students could choose between three different lists curated by different GLAM-institutions, namely the National Gallery, the National Museum and the University of Tromsø. You can have a look at the other lists, and results from previous years work here.

Next year the students will work with lists related to queer artists, as we prepare for the Queer Cultural Year 2022.

Corona safety is highly prioritized. We followed all local recommendations, and were happy that we could have the first meeting in person.
For the second session the situation in Oslo had become increasingly challenging, both Corona-wise and with a bus strike, so it was held remotely.

Radio cinema at Márkomeannu festival in Bodø

Márkomeannu festival, an annual Sámi music festival, will have different events in the city of Bodø in the northern part of Norway October 10 as a replacement of the festival that was cancelled this summer due to COVID-19. At 17.00 Wikimedia Norge and the podcast project "I Elsa Laulas fotsport - radiodokumentar" invite listeners to a radio cinema with a following conversation. The episode we will listen to is the one called Delvieh, where four young, Sámi women share different ways to strengthen the Sámi languages, traditions, knowledge and rights.
