List of editing workshops

The following is (will be) a list of volunteer-run workshops for the public about how to edit Wikipedia. This list may also include workshops on topics such as how to use Wikipedia in education, and how to judge the quality or credibility of Wikipedia articles. Materials for the workshops may be linked to external sources off of a sub-page or they may be created directly on this wiki. Participants in the workshops may be editing some of the materials, either to correct/extend them or to complete collaborative learning activities done at the workshops. These workshops are separate from those that may take place in the context of the Public Policy Initiative or other official WMF projects.
(Note: Anyone who has such workshops could/should be listing them here; it's not a private page just for workshops in Greece :-P)

The first of a series of workshops for the general public (is it? or is it aimed at educators? I'd better find this out).
There are actually two workshops, one on the 16th and one on the 17th. We are trying a different structure this time, with a few short activities to get people familiar with the tools of the wiki, and then jumping right in to composing articles.
Yet another round of restructuring. There was too much wordiness and too much content for the activities, and we're switching the order around a bit as well. Every activity will have them making edits of some sort.
Actually a copy of Atalanti's workshop from another trainer (a second look to the same structure).
A workshop for limited time inside a wide event, where the audience will be already tired :( (last presentation/workshop).
A workshop at the Vikelea Library of Heraclion in Crete.
This workshop is taking place in the context of Openfest, a set of presentations and workshops around Free Software and Open Source. It had a very short time slot, less than an hour. Participants were people interested/active in the open source movement. Some small tweaks were made to the Atalanti materials for use here, plus of course a separate list of recommended topics for article creations.
We have the full two hours for this one, and the expectation is that we'll have educators from various areas (not necessarily CS folks).
A workshop at the Gennadios Library of Ioannina in Εpirus.
This workshop will be conducted at a conference for educators: 6ο Πανελλήνιο Συνέδριο των Εκπαιδευτικών για τις ΤΠΕ, with the theme Αξιοποίηση των Τεχνολογιών της Πληροφορίας και της Επικοινωνίας στη Διδακτική Πράξη. The main bulk of the presntations is on Saturday, and there is a workshop track which we're in. The conference is conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. This version of the workshop leaves some time for discussion of the use of Wikipedia (and related projects) in the classroom. We expect the participants to be very familiar with various computer technologies, in contrast to other workshops which were given for the general public where folks had vastly varying degrees of computer literacy.
Workshop for teachers (elementary school)
Workshop during conference for open source free software.
Wikipedia governance and decision-making, July 2011
editThis was designed to be an interactive workshop, and hopefully will be in future iterations; however, due to the large number of participants and time constraints, it became more of a presentation with Q-and-A. It was attended by about 40 or 50 people, mostly professors with some amount of exposure to Wikipedia through the Public Policy Initiative. -Pete (talk)
User Saintfevrier was invited to present a Wikipedia workshop at the Spice Summer Academy, after having won first place in the Scientix poster competition in Brussels (May 2011). The allotted time slot was 45 minutes, and it was a challenge to devise a workshop scheme that could function in such a brief time. They asked for a "catchy" title, so the workshop was named "The Wikipedia Startup Wizard".
(Σύνδεσμος Καθηγητών Γαλλικής Γλώσσας) workshop for french teachers in IFA (Institut Francais d'Athenes)
User Saintfevrier was invited to present a Wikipedia workshop at the Festival of Science and Technology (FEST11). Instead, she presented a mini-seminar spanning Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Creative Commons titled "The Open Community in the School of Today".
