JavaScript form

edit

Hi, that js form for the user page thing you made is really great! (I admit that I have fun trying it out :P.) Just wondering, is there any way you can make clicking the button auto-save the page, so the user doesn't have to click "Save page" manually? Cheers, Fetchcomms (talk) 02:56, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! It is possible, but not in a "hack free" manner. Also Hannibal and I have discussed (in mid Marsh) that it is important to show the users that they themselves need to save pages after they have edited. To make them do this, however may be a great challenge. Sertion (talk) 12:02, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks! Fetchcomms (talk) 15:37, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
One other question: is there a way the js can use an editintro/editnotice (User:Fetchcomms/draft/ei)? I tried adding &editintro=User%3AFetchcomms%2Fdraft%2Fei to MediaWiki:Common.js after the &action=submit but it did not work. Fetchcomms (talk) 15:50, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I am afraid not without the same type of hack mentioned above. Sertion (talk) 15:52, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK, no worries, cheers. Fetchcomms (talk) 16:17, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Recent removal of rights

edit

Hello. I just wanted to leave a formal note as a follow-up to an e-mail that you might received many hours ago about the removal of your rights from this site. Per a admittedly very brief discussion on the Village pump, multiple users supported cleaning up the list, both on and off the page. My goal of doing this was to get a better count of who was an active administrator, as well as purge the list in a move that is in line with other WMF wikis. However, should you still wish to be an administrator on Outreach, please leave me a message on my talk page, and I will promptly restore your rights as soon as I see the message. Thank you for your contributions to this site, and have a great day. Kevin Rutherford (talk)
