The following page describes and provides information about the general education system in the Bolivia.
The school year begins in February and ends in November.

- Spanish (all the indigenous languages are official languages)
- Depending on the context of the school, the first language of instruction will either be Spanish or an indigenous language (in cases where more languages are spoken by different students, a communitarian committee will decide upon the language[s] of instruction).
Two types of schools in Bolivia are public schools and private schools.
The school grade levels are divided by the following:
- Pre-primary 4-5,
- Primary 6-11,
- Secondary 12-17,
- Tertiary 18-22;
- Compulsory education lasts 14 years from age 4 to age 17

the education reform is built around the following four pillars, as identified by the Bolivian MoE: (1)

- intra- and inter-culturalism along with plurilingualism, (3)
- productivity and (4)
- communitarian education.
