There was a memorial service for Effie Kapsalis, Digitaleffie; an open knowledge champion at the Smithsonian Institution. There was a livestream, Celebration of life for Effie Kapsalis
The Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative (organized by Kelly Doyle Kim and Andrew Lih) held a meetup, EditingForEffie; there was a livestream, Editing for Effie Edit-a-thon. Dashboard metrics for this meetup are here. This was a global campaign, Siobhan Leachman originated the idea to remember and honor Effie Kapsalis.
