Wikimedia DC had a edit-a-thon at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, on June 11, 2016.
TED
Jane Darnell (User:Jane023) and Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing) continue their stint as remote-working Wikipedians in Residence at NY-based TED (see last month's special report). A number of TED staff have been trained to edit Wikipedia and Wikidata. The TED speakers challenge has been extended for a week, and will run until 13 July. Wikimedians are invited to write or improve Wikipedia articles and Wikidata items about the 1,800+ speakers in the dataset donated by TED. Prizes are offered!
WikiConference North America 2016
Planning has begun on WikiConference North America, scheduled to be held at San Diego, on October 7–10, 2016.
