New partnership with Library and Archives Canada, and a GLAM Wiki Summit in Toronto
Agreement with Library and Archives Canada
Wikimedia Canada is proud to announce that, on May 13th, it has signed an over-arching agreement with Library and Archives Canada (LAC) to work together in making the country's documentary heritage more accessible to Canadians and people around the world. LAC is a federal government institution that preserves and makes accessible the documentary heritage of Canada, and serves as the continuing memory of the Government of Canada and its institutions.
This agreement sets the framework for future projects and the organization of events such as edit-a-thons and scan-a-thons. As well, both institutions have agreed to share their expertise and collaborate on research. Specific projects under this agreement will be announced in the coming months.
GLAM Wiki Summit
On May 23rd, a GLAM Wiki Summit was hosted at Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario, Toronto GLAM-Wiki Summit. See also GLAM Summit 2019.
