Dear Aradhanar, I'm a member of Wikimedia Italy and it is the first time I stumble upon Outreach wiki. I was wondering how to start contributing to this wiki: with WMI we have done some outreach events, and I would like to know more about what is needed to show them here. Do I have to write a little summary of the events and just post them in the front page? Thank you for your attention, you can find me at [1]. --Aubrey 13:53, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Aubrey, Thanks so much for reaching out! For now, you can help us with translations. Check out and feel free to add your name to the list here : http://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Translations_and_Localization_(Bookshelf)
Hi Ms. Aradhna, I saw that you re-wrote some of the points I added on Ten reasons to contribute to Wikipedia. I understand that the edits were for length and consistency but I think some of the lines seem to drone on a bit(the ones I wrote especially), I am going to take another crack at my posts if its alright with you, just to shorten them for cohesiveness and tone. I only had one issue,"The Wiki-ness of wikipedia" was edited to "The Wiki-ness of Wikipedia is cool", cool doesnt seem to fit in to the tone of the rest of the article, it was intended to convey the unique collaborative, stitched-together process of wikipedia and the unique characteristics of some of the choices if you will. You can always revert my edits but I wanted to inform you before hand. Thanks and please let me know if you need help with anything, I have some experience with working on smaller wikis, importing templates and info etc.(Technical/admin-related work), I was heavily involved in the strategic planning wiki last year. Thanks --Theo10011 21:28, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sure! Thanks for the help, Theo! I appreciate you letting me know ahead of time the edits you plan to make...and please call me Aradhana (not Ms....) :) -Aradhanar
Welcome to Wikipdia comments
editHi Aradhanar!
Was this blanking of the talk page fully intentional? There seems to have been a number of comments or unanswered suggestions that might still be useful for the team working on the Bookshelf project.
Best regards, --Bdamokos 23:15, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- They have been moved here manually, instead of using the move-tool. Your comments are of course very much valued.//Hannibal 17:47, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Bdamokos, Thanks for asking. I moved the content to keep the product landing page clean and uncluttered - so that it houses only the current 'live' version of the text. That way (we hope), users will have better flexibility with the content. For example, they could, if they wanted, copy paste the text, throw it into a translation tool, edit the content thus generated, and reuse it into the current design format. As for the last set of review comments (Sept 4), I should move them back to the discussion page since it would help in the next iteration (if there is one). I apologize for missing the last set of comments in haste. Thanks for pointing it out! I make the necessary correction. :) Aradhanar 08:20, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Welcome2WP - request
editHello! Wikimedia Poland Association is going to publish Polish version of "Welcome to Wikipedia" paper. For that we need to replace original screenshots in this paper onto screenshots from pl.wiki. I've tried to make such big screenshots (over 5000x4000px) but I could not. Can you help me making this screenhots or giving some advice? Thanks in advance! (Our first preview pdf is available here.) Best wishes from Poland, Patrol110 (talk) 18:57, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Recent removal of rights
editHello. I just wanted to leave a formal note as a follow-up to an e-mail that you might received many hours ago about the removal of your rights from this site. Per a admittedly very brief discussion on the Village pump, multiple users supported cleaning up the list, both on and off the page. My goal of doing this was to get a better count of who was an active administrator, as well as purge the list in a move that is in line with other WMF wikis. However, should you still wish to be an administrator on Outreach, please leave me a message on my talk page, and I will promptly restore your rights as soon as I see the message. Thank you for your contributions to this site, and have a great day. Kevin Rutherford (talk)
