Education Program Extension on Russian Wikipedia

edit

Dear Rubin16,

I'm so happy to see the Education Program Extension was enabled on Russian Wikipedia. Thank you for making the official request on Phabricator. And thank you for being an online volunteer for the first course! I saw that Петрозаводский государственный университет was added at Special:Institutions and Интернет-математика was added at Special:Courses. That's great. It looks like it is working perfectly. If you encounter any difficulties, please let me know right away. Feel free to email me anytime!

I'd also like to connect you with a fellow CEE Wikimedian, whom you may already know: User:Vojtěch Dostál. Vojtěch is a veteran Education Program Leader and a mentor in the Education Collaborative. He's a really great guy with a ton of experience in the wiki world, in particular with the Education Program Extension on both Czech and English Wikipedia. You can reach out to him, too, with questions or problems.

I've written a draft article about this for the monthly education newsletter (here in the newsroom). Please feel free to expand it! We published similar articles when the extension was enabled recently on Catalan Wikipedia, Ukrainian Wikipedia, and Dutch Wikipedia.

There are a variety of resources on the education portal here on Outreach wiki, including the new the Education Toolkit. You and User:AKA MBG are *very* experienced Wikipedians, but your students may be newbies. There are two resources especially that can help them practice safely and later avoid making common mistakes: The Wikipedia Adventure and Training for Students. Both can be translated into Russian language. :)

I'm happy for Russian Wikipedia. :) I look forward to hearing from you soon! And I wish you the best of luck! Удачи! :)
