2nd edit-a-thon WikiUNAM. The theachers review and edit Wikipedia
For the second occasion Wikimedia México and the National Autonomus University of Mexico (UNAM), joined forces to continue contributing to free knowledge. The 17 of november of 2016, through of the Open University and Distance Education Coordination (Coordinación de Universidad Abierta y Educación a Distancia CUAED) and the Directorate General of Computation and Information and Communication Technologies (Dirección General de Cómputo y de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación DGTIC), it was possible for the UNAM, to open its doors and invited teachers and academics to improve one of the most consulted sites on the Internet and the main reference of the students, Wikipedia. The principal objective was improve the quality of the information that exists in some articles of the encyclopaedia and create new; could be articles about the diferent organisms insite of the UNAM, or about of the subjects in which the teachers are specialists.
More than the number of articles edited and created, which amounted to 125 articles, many participants realized that it is very easy to contribute to Wikipedia and that they can improve the information that their students consult, and therefore it can be a more reliable reference.

Edit-a-thon Gallery Kurimanzutto (Galería Kurimanzutto). Contemporary Art
The 19 of november, the Gallery of Contemporary Art Kurimanzutto and Wikimedia Mexico begin their collaboration with a edit-a-thon about contemporary artists represented by the gallery. The objective of this collaboration it's enrich the contents in the Wikimedia projects on Mexican contemporary art, as part of the program of Wikimedia Mexico with Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums iniciative (GLAM).
The edit-a-thon begin with a introduction of the contemporay art in Mexico, and how was created the Gallery Kurimanzutto in 1999, institution that promotes contemporary art and it's dissemination. Later, the activity consist in create and edit articles about some Mexican artist, or artist that working in Mexico, with the information in books, papers, magazines, and other media, joined by personal of the gallery.
In this process, the participants learn more about the contemporary art in Mexico and how working this artist. To the final, the Gallery Kurimanzutto gift books about the artist that working with this institution.

Edit-a-thon about heritage with the Cultural Corridor Roma Condesa
Within of the 17° edition of the Cultural Corridor Roma Condesa (Corredor Cultural Roma Condesa), which consists of a series of activities aimed at publicizing the cultural, artistic and gastronomic heritage of the colonies Roma, Condesa and Hipódromo, Wikimedia Mexico decided participate with a edit-a-thon about the heritage of this zone of Mexico City, specially buildings and museums.
The venue for this meeting was the Horizontal Center (Centro Horizontal), cultural center create in this year. The objective was create articles about the buildings considerated heritage and emblematic of this zone. For it was used bibliography on the area, besides having the presence of some neighbors and outstanding people who live or lived in those colonies.
This experience allowed us to know a little more about this part of the city, how it has been modified to become an area characterized by diversity and attractions for own and strangers, which allows valuing it from other perspectives
