#faktajakt and Armenia contest

The Wikipedia Library

We are getting ready for this year's #1lib1ref (#faktajakt will be the Norwegian hashtag in use). And we are lucky enough to welcome two interns from The Department of Archivistics, Library and Information Science at The Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences to the Wikimedia Norge office in January. We have a Norwegian bokmål and Norwegian Nynorsk translation of the citation hunt tool ready and the first step in our outreach to librarians is an article in the January edition of the journal for librarians, Bbliotekaren, out January 11th.

Armenia - Norway editing contest

Wikimedia Armenia and Wikimedia Norge have collaborated on an editing contest where Armenians write articles about Norway and Norwegians write about Armenia. The contest is still running in Norway, with 58 new articles so far. The jury of the Norwegian contest consists of two active editors, a representative from The National Archive and a journalist from one of the major Norwegian newspapers. The winner gets a trip to Armenia and we will of course welcome the Armenian winner to Norway sometime in 2017. The response in Armenia is amazing! More to come when we have the winners!
