Call for proposals for GLAM 2024
The call is open to public or private cultural institutions based in Italy: museums, archives and libraries, but also museum networks, ecomuseums and library systems. Local associations, foundations, schools and universities or other institutions can also be involved in the projects. The request budget for the activities can be between EUR 2,000 and EUR 8,000. The deadline for submitting proposals is 1 March 2024. Activities must be completed by 31 October 2024 and reported on by 15 November 2024. Institutions that have already been funded in the past, with original projects or in continuity with previous ones, can also apply.
Digitisation activities, events involving people with or without expertise in collaborative projects to write Wikipedia entries, transcribe Wikisource books, map cultural sites on OpenStreetMap or other similar activities can be funded. The materials produced will have to be published under free licences and all cultural institutions will have to commit to disseminate and share the results of their activities with the public, as well as to join the Empowering Italian GLAMsproject. Institutions will be able to propose to use the funds to purchase computer and photographic equipment for the production of digital content and to install open source software, or to organise events and pay for the involvement of professionals needed for the activities.
