Jwild
Welcome
editHello Jwild, and welcome to the Outreach Wiki! Our mission is to recruit and support new Wikimedians and to build strong relationships with cultural and educational institutions. Want to help? Here's some stuff you can do:
- Volunteer to join the outreach team so we know that we're allowed to ask you for help ;-)
- Indicate your languages and skills on your user page so we know how you can best help!
- Review the bookshelf materials, help with localization and add your feedback
- Learn about our work with cultural institutions and join ongoing conversations
- Join the Account Creation Improvement Project, aiming to increase editing by new users
- Start a student club at your university
See the sidebar for some other projects you can get involved in.
The Village pump is a great place to ask questions, but don't hesitate to leave me a note if I can help. Thanks for stopping by – hope you like the place and decide to stay! Regards, Rock drum (talk · contribs) 18:02, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
Student outreach
editHey J
What part of the world are you from? Help with getting Canada universities more involved with Wikimedia projects would be much appreciated. I am currently in discussions with UBC where I sit on the faculty. A push from students is now what I need :-) --Jmh649 (talk) 00:07, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hi! I'm at the WMF offices in San Francisco and am supporting efforts to start student clubs around the world! The goal is to mobilize and empower the next generation of human knowledge generators and stewards to contribute to Wikimedia projects. Creating a viral, international network of students who can support each other in contributing to Wikimedia projects would be a tremendous step forward in helping integrate the world of academia with the concepts of collaboration and open access to knowledge. *SO* - I would be happy to help you with student recruitment ideas! editPer Wikimedia:Inactivity policy, your account is due for having advanced user rights removed. If you would like to retain these user rights, please post a message on this talk page and use {{Ping}} to alert me. Note that this message is being sent to several users who are in the same situation and many have never used administrator tools. In the past, community standards were more lax about who received adminship or bureaucratship and between this policy and a further solicitation of consensus, we are reigning in some of the requirements for advanced user rights. You will also be receiving an email from me if you have it enabled. Koavf (talk) 21:28, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
